Gun in the House
[As] John Steinbeck once said:
- Don´t pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he´ll just kill you.
- If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.
- I carry a gun cause a cop is too heavy.
- When seconds count, the cops are just minutes away.
- A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him, ´Why do you carry a 45?´ The Ranger responded, ´Because they don´t make a 46.´
- An armed man will kill an unarmed man with monotonous regularity.
- The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm. ´Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble?´ ´No Ma´am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my rifle.´
- Beware the man who only has one gun. HE PROBABLY KNOWS HOW TO USE IT!!
I was once asked by a lady visiting if I had a gun in the house. I said I did.
She said, ´Well I certainly hope it isn´t loaded!´! To which I said, of course it is loaded, don´t work without bullets!´
She then asked, ´Are you that afraid of some one evil coming into your house?´
My reply was, ´No not at all. I am not afraid of the house catching fire either, but I have fire extinguishers around, and they are all loaded too.´
To which I´ll add, having a gun in the house that isn´t loaded is like having a car in the garage without gas in the tank.

Accidental deaths Number of physicians in the US: 700,000. Accidental deaths caused by physicians per year: 120,000. Accidental deaths per physician: 0.171 (U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services) Number of gun owners in the US: 80,000,000. Number of accidental gun deaths per year: 1,500 (all age groups) Accidental deaths per gun owner: 0.0000188 Therefore, statistically, Doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners. "FACT: Not everyone has a gun, but everyone has at least one Doctor." (And with the pending ´health care´ seems they are intending to mandate us having one.) Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. It appears that we must ban doctors before this gets out of hand. So, remember: guns don´t kill people -- Medical Doctors do! ALSO: If you consider that there have been an average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq theater operations during the last 22 months, and considering the number of deaths there gives us a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000. The rate in Washington, D.C. is 80.6 per 100,000. That means that you are more likely to be shot and killed in our Nation´s capitol, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation, than you are in Iraq. Conclusion: We [the People] should immediately pull out of WASHINGTON, D.C.! It’s just not safe there!!!
