This is the web site for Liberty Lobby and The Spotlight. Liberty Lobby, founded in 1955, operated for more than 40 years in Washington, DC, where it also published a weekly paper, The Spotlight. Liberty Lobby and The Spotlight ceased operations in 2001 as the result of a long, drawn-out legal battle with Legion for the Survival of Freedom, Inc. (LSF), parent corporation of the Institute for Historical Review. This legal battle involved Willis A. Carto, the founder of Liberty Lobby and for years its boss. During the 1980s and early 1990s, Willis Carto, together with others, illegally diverted millions of dollars from LSF/IHR. For more information about that legal battle, see the “Willis Carto Information Site”: http://homepage.mac.com/lsf/index.html By court order, all legal and other rights of Liberty Lobby have been assigned to LSF/IHR. This was spelled out by California Superior Court judge Runston Maino in his court order of August 2, 2002 (text below). All inquiries regarding bequests or gifts to Liberty Lobby should be directed to: Legion for the Survival of Freedom, Inc. Or contact: President, LSF
