Second Amendment for Dummies
by James Jaeger

Some people claim to not understand the Second Amendment or say that it's not clear. What's not clear about the Second Amendment, which states:

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State,
the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

OK, if this needs to be spelled out:

> "A well regulated Militia, ...

a 'militia' is a bunch of Citizens that provide their own arms and accoutrements, meet occasionally to be trained and are organized. YOU and me are IN the U.S.A. militia by decree of the U.S. Constitution IF you have acknowledged that you are a U.S.A. Citizen/National.

> ... being necessary...

Such a militia -- made up of YOU and ME -- is not a luxury or subject to whim, it's NECESSARY. This is the ONLY thing the entire Constitution says is NECESSARY. It's the only place the WORD 'NECESSARY' appears in the document. The Constitution does NOT say the Congress is necessary. The Constitution does NOT say the President is necessary. The Constitution does NOT say the Supreme Court is necessary. The Constitution does NOT even say MONEY is necessary. The Constitution says ONLY THE MILITIA MILITIA IS NECESSARY. Why is this? Because "Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun."

> ... to the security of a free State, ...

If you want SECURITY and you want FREEDOM, it is NECESSARY to have a political structure that will provide that. Why is this? Because "Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun."

> ... the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Since the United States is a SELF-governing nation, the POLITICAL STRUCTURE that it is governed by is "WE THE PEOPLE", thus the People, organized as a militia, have the right to KEEP and BEAR ARMamentS. This means, since you are a member of the militia by virtue of the fact that you claim to be a USA Citizen/National, you have the right to HAVE and OWN guns and you have the right to KEEP such guns on your PERSON (body) whenever and wherever you wish -- even as you walk about Virginia State University or into the Oval Office.

Since, as Chairman Mao so observantly said, "Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun," IF the Peoples' right to keep and bear such arms is INFRINGED -- taken away or not-exercised -- THEN they will NOT be the SOURCE of the self-governing nation the Constitution says they are supposed to be. Some OTHER entity will take political power if the People don't keep it. If that happens, then you do NOT have a SELF-governing nation. (It will be lost!)

Get it? It should be real clear, if you wanna get it (and I think you really do).

Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun. If the government is the ones with the guns, THEN they are the ones with the political power.

If the police or military are the ones with the guns, THEN they are the ones with the political power.

If the congress or president are the ones with the guns, THEN they are the ones with the political power.

If multi-national corporations or the UN are the ones with the guns, THEN they are the ones with the political power.

If the JOE 'FREAKING BOZO' is the one with the gun, then he is the ONE with the political power.

Just who's side are you on?
